Here's an interesting article:
Vergas Council agrees to shop nationally for best CD rates
A town in MN is going to use a national bank for its CD rates, in an effort to get a greater return on their investment. The article notes that some of the priorities of the council are making sure their deposits are all FDIC-insured and making sure their deposits are housed in a bank that is stable.
These are common concerns, which is why MoneyAisle only has FDIC-member banks in its network, and why we use an independent bank rating agency to pre-screen all of our member banks for additional peace of mind.
Stories like this are also one of the reasons MoneyAisle recently launched its Beta for Credit Unions, Municipalities, Businesses, and other organizations - consumers have been reaping the benefits of the great rates offered by MoneyAisle reverse auctions, we thought it was time organizations had a chance to get in on the action.
